Download TD Bank Statements Online and in the App

By CheapBankConvertPublished October 17, 2026

To download TD Bank statements, log in to TD Online Banking or the TD Bank app, open the account's statements, pick the month and save the PDF. TD keeps up to seven years of statements online, for statements issued from April 2010. Transactions can also go straight to Quicken or QuickBooks, and copies of older statements are free.

How do you download TD Bank statements in Online Banking?

TD Bank statements download from TD Online Banking, where statements and notices are organized by account and by date. You log in, choose the account, find the statement month, open it and save the file. TD's online banking page says online statements are available around the clock, at no charge, for up to seven years.

On a computer, the routine looks like this:

  1. Log in to TD Online Banking.
  2. Go to the statements and documents area. TD groups statements by account, then by date.
  3. Choose the account. Checking, savings and money market accounts each have their own list.
  4. Choose the statement month you need.
  5. Open the statement and save it from your browser or PDF reader.
  6. Rename the file before opening the next one, for example "TD-checking-2026-05.pdf", an example name that keeps months in order.

Notices sit alongside statements in the same area. That is useful when you are looking for a change-of-terms letter, and it means you should read the document title before saving, so a notice does not end up filed as a statement.

TD also sends an email when a new statement is ready, if you turn on statement alerts. That email is only a pointer. The statement itself is still in Online Banking.

Downloading TD Bank statements in the mobile app

TD Bank statements can also be opened in the TD Bank mobile app, which TD says gives access to account statements at any time and lets you go paperless from the app. The statement is the same document as on the website. Saving it on a phone just takes a different gesture.

A phone works well for one statement in a hurry, such as when a landlord asks for last month's statement while you are out. It is slower for a full year, because each file has to be opened, shared or saved, and then found again in the phone's files.

A few habits make the app easier:

  • Save to a named folder, not just the downloads area, so you can attach the file to an email later.
  • Check the file opened fully. On a weak signal, a long statement can stop loading partway. Scroll to the last page before you send it.
  • Use the website for batches. If you need more than three or four months, a laptop is quicker.

If you bank with more than one institution, apps differ in how they hand over a PDF. Downloading Ally Bank statements shows how an online-only bank handles the same job.

How far back do TD Bank statements go?

TD Bank statements go back up to seven years in Online Banking. TD's page says the free online access covers statements issued on or after April 2010 and notices issued on or after March 2015. Anything older than the online window has to be requested from TD.

In practice, the seven-year limit is the one that matters for most people. A statement issued in October 2019, for example, falls inside a seven-year window counted from October 2026, while one from 2018 is likely outside it. The April 2010 date only matters for very old requests.

Seven years covers most everyday needs:

  • Tax questions, where records for recent years are usually the ones asked for.
  • Loan and rental applications, which normally want the last few months.
  • Tracing an old charge or deposit, which rarely reaches back further.

Not every bank offers the same window. Credit unions in particular set their own limits, and the Navy Federal statement download guide covers one with its own rules. If you hold accounts in several places, check each bank's limit before you need something from the edge of it.

TD Bank activity export to Quicken or QuickBooks

TD Bank offers an activity export to Quicken or QuickBooks rather than a statement-style download. TD's online banking page says you can download your TD Bank account information directly to either program. That gives you rows without opening a PDF.

The export suits people who already keep their money in Quicken or their small business books in QuickBooks. It brings the transactions in so the software can match and categorize them.

It does not replace the statement:

  • The statement is the document. It shows the period, opening and closing balances, fees and interest, in the bank's own layout. Lenders and tax preparers want that.
  • The export is data. It is meant for software to read, not for a person to send as proof.
  • The span can differ. Statements go back seven years online. Check how far back the export reaches in your own account before you count on it for an old month.

If you only need a spreadsheet and do not use either program, the statement PDF is still an option. The rows can be lifted out of it, either by hand or with a converter.

Ordering older TD Bank statement copies

Older TD Bank statement copies, from before the online window or missing for another reason, can be ordered from TD by phone or at a branch. TD's personal fee schedule lists statement copies as free, including statements with check copies or deposit slips, and statements with check copies and deposit reconstructions.

At the schedule's current prices, then, a copy request costs nothing. Before you call or visit, write down:

  1. The account number, or at least the last four digits.
  2. The exact months, such as "June 2017 through December 2017".
  3. Whether you need check images or deposit slips with them.
  4. How you want the copies delivered.

For a closed TD account, give the date it closed, since the statements belong to an account you can no longer see online. Ask the agent how long the copies will take to arrive, and note the answer.

If you need a copy in another format, TD's online banking page lists alternate statement formats, including Braille, large print and accessible PDFs, by phone request.

Even when copies are free, ask only for the months you cannot download. A shorter request is processed faster, and you spend less time sorting paper.

Copies matter most around tax time, when you may need to show interest earned on an account. Your interest form is a separate document from the statement, and what a 1099-INT for bank interest shows explains how the two fit together.

TD Bank paper statement fee: turning paper off

TD Bank charges a paper statement fee of $3.00 per statement cycle on many accounts, according to its personal fee schedule. TD Essential Banking pays $1.00, and TD Complete primary account holders aged 60 and above pay nothing. TD's online banking page also says Online Banking customers receive paper statements automatically unless they turn them off.

Put together, that means an account holder who never changed the setting may be paying for mail they do not read. At $3.00 a cycle, twelve monthly statements come to $36.00 in a year.

The fees, as the schedule lists them:

TD Bank statement item Fee
Paper statement, per statement cycle $3.00
Paper statement, TD Essential Banking $1.00
Paper statement, TD Complete primary holders aged 60 and above Free
Printed check images with paper statement, per cycle $2.00
Statement copies Free

To stop paper statements, update the statement settings in Online Banking or the app, or call TD or visit a branch, as TD's page describes. Turning paper off does not remove the statements. They stay in Online Banking for the full online window, and you can still order free copies if you need paper later.

Before you switch, download a few recent statements and confirm you can open and save them. That way you know the online route works before the paper stops.

When does a TD Bank statement PDF still need converting?

A TD Bank statement PDF still needs converting when you want its rows in a spreadsheet and the Quicken or QuickBooks export is not an option, either because you do not use that software or because the month is older than the export reaches. The PDF holds every transaction, but as a printed page.

Common reasons to convert one:

  • A budget built from several months, where you want to sort and total by category.
  • An old month for a dispute or a tax question, where only the statement covers the date.
  • A summary for someone else, such as a list of rent payments over a year.

Copying rows by hand works for a short statement. For anything longer, a converter is faster. CheapBankConvert turns a statement PDF into a CSV or Excel file and charges once per document, so converting one TD statement does not mean starting a subscription. Whichever route you use, compare the closing balance in the spreadsheet with the one printed on the statement, so you know no rows were lost.
